Had a go at this just for kicks: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Turns out I’m a higly competent speaker of English... (got 25/25)

So I decided to have a go at this: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

And got a 24/25 score..

Not too shabby I’d say.

I’ve got the distinct feeling that these tests don’t really tell you how good/bad you are.. That said, I’m tempted to take an exam or two just to have the papers showing the world that “Eyh, Me good in English me”

I got 22 and 24, and I agree with you about these tests. I can read and listen to English with no problems at all, but I’m a terrible, terrible speaker and a very average writer.

I’d say I’m better at speaking then at writing English.. Bloody dyslexia tends to cock things up for me when I write.

I’m a stutterer, so speaking is a bit hard, especially since I speak quietly.

But I’m also 16, so there is still room for improvement. Planning to live in the UK for 1 year when I’m 18 to finally learn how to speak English properly, but since my country is becoming a shitter place to live everyday that pass by, I don’t really think that will happen.

ahh, I’m 34. Never lived abroad, but as a Norwegian you tend to learn English quite early on anyway.

Are you Portuguese?

Brazillian, unfortunately. And you have to want to learn English here. My English classes here are very, very basic, and I study in a private school. To learn English, you like have to go to a proper English course. I have 2 hours of class every week but when I am on vacation (since December and until February) the only way I can practice my audition is watching Netflix, and listening to music, things that I do a lot. Since none of my relatives understand English, the only way I can practice my writing and reading is here on Oppositelock and Jalopnik. DeMuro’s book helped my reading too, thanks Doug. I try to practice as much as I can, by doing small things like keeping my smartphone and computer in English, giving Cortana commands and listening to other players talk in Xbox Live

Ahh Brazil :) you speak Portuguese then.. or something similar. No need to worry about your English though, better than many people born and raised in the UK I’d say.

Thank you! And yeah we speak Portuguese. I love Portuguese as a language, and believe it or not, I love my country, just hate the current government. I wish that some Norwegian would come here and administrate this place properly. Damn if I don’t love the Nordic countries, so freaking beautiful (and cold, damn it’s so fucking hot here). If English was the main language there and the cost of living just a little bit smaller I would give anything to live there.

The funny thing about the nordic countries is the weather.. sure it’s -25 celsius and tons of snow in the winter, but it’s 25 celsius in the summer..

Here is like 35-40 in summer and 22-25 in winter. But it rains in the summer here (raining as a write this comment) so we have umid hot, so it feels even hotter. I live in Belo Horizonte, where the climate is acceptable, but in Rio de Janeiro for example, our second biggest and most famous city is usually high 30's low 40's the entire year, New Year's Eve the thermal sensation reached 52 Celsius. And that is not even the hottest place here, not even close
